Stained Glass Courses - LEVEL 1, 2 and 3

I run 3 one-day courses which together cover most of the techniques you'll need to create your own stained glass.

DAY 1 PROJECTS - mirror, mobile, hanging, suncatcher

LEVEL 1 - The Basics

Part 1:- general practice using household glass

  • Scoring (cutting) the glass
  • Breaking the glass
  • Cutting straight-edge shapes (squares, rectangles, triangles)

Part 2:- starting your own stained glass project

  • Creating your design
  • Making the pattern for each glass piece
  • Copper foiling each piece
  • Soldering the glass pieces together
  • Cleaning, patina and waxing your completed work
DAY 2 PROJECTS - picture frame, light catcher, garden stake, tealight holder

LEVEL 2 -  Basics continued

You'll be practicing the same techniques as the first session, but this time you’ll be focusing on creating a stained glass panel with curved pieces.

This will include the following:-

  • Cutting S-shaped curves
  • Cutting circles, ovals and outside curves
  • Cutting inside curves – the most difficult cut!!

LEVEL 3

Will help you develop the techniques you’ve learnt on the previous two courses – the project objects are the same as Level 2, but with more detailed design options.

OR.......

You can do a project of your own choice (approx A4 in size).

Send your ideas to me and I'll prepare your design so it is suitable for your stained glass project, and ready for you to immediately start (but I cannot guarantee you’ll finish in a day.)
